Card - See the World

PRODUCTS USED:

6x6 card base and a white mat layer that's a little bit smaller.

Victorian velvet & tea die distress ink &

Versafine Clair ink Nocturne.

Torn edge piece of card.

Bee Crafty Stamps

PROCESS:

Ink a border using the torn piece of card and the Victorian velvet distress ink.

Using the tea dye distress ink and the compass stamp ink up the script part and randomly stamp it around your layer.

Ink up the compass stamp with a black ink (I used Versafine Clair as it's a real dark black) stamp it into the bottom right corner.
Then ink up the tyre tracks and stamp above in the left hand corner. (Just to mix it up a bit) adds some interest, changing the layout of the stamp.

I then stamped the sentiment 'Explore'
From the travel wordage set straight onto the card & stamped the words 'See the world' from the same set onto a separate piece of card.
Cut the words out individually, ink the bottom with tea dye ink and glue them at jaunty angles in the bottom left corner.

To finish I inked the border with black soot distress ink & doodled a wiggly border with a black fine liner.
(I felt because I'm only using a single layer the black border and doodle helps to frame the whole design.)

Card - Hard work

PRODUCTS USED:

Versafine Clair Nocturne ink,
Distress inks/oxides blueprint sketch, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron & peacock feathers.
Bee Crafty Art stamps

PROCESS:

First I swiped my distress ink pads down my card stock to create my background.

Then using Versafine Clair ink I stamped the large compass art stamp to cover the background & the chevron sign from road works set 3 times around the edge.

I stamped the light bulb & sentiment onto a separate piece of white card stock and cut them out. They were then inked with squeezed lemonade distress ink and glued down.

To finish I stamped a tyre tread texture onto part of the sentiment and down one side for more interest.

Finally I inked the border with blueprint sketch distress ink.

Old dictionary pages, gel plate, acrylic paint, brayer, black spot distress ink, black marker pen, white Posca pen, Carabelle stamps & Bee crafty ticker tape stamps.

I created a gel plate print background using acrylic paints. (See video link for gel printing demo by Simon says stamp)

I then stamped a random design onto my printed background using a stamp set by Carabelle.

Then I drew 3 hearts of different sizes onto my old dictionary pages, fussy cut them out and glued them onto my background.

I used the ticker tape stamp set 1 from Bee Crafty for my sentiment.

I inked around the border in black spot distreed ink & added a doodled border with a black marker.

To finish I added a white outside edge to the left side of my heart's using a Posca Paint marker, and I smudged it with my finger.

Card - Into the Wild

PRODUCTS USED:

Squeezed lemonade, abandoned coral & vintage photo distress inks.
Bee Crafty Stamps.

PROCESS:

To ink the background I die cut a small circle and used it as a mask for the sun. So I inked around it with the squeezed lemonade & abandoned coral to get a sunset, warm desert sky look.

For the ground I tore a sheet of card and I inked off the edge of it with Vintage photo distress ink to get the uneven line. I repeated this a couple of time using different pressures so the pigment varied. This gave me my desert floor feel.

Then I stamped my tiger & sentiment in Versafine Clair ink. (I love this because it's so dark and really stands out.)

Lastly to frame the design I doodled a squiggle border using a fine Posca Paint marker.

Funky Fridge Magnets

PRODUCTS USED:

crafting bottle caps, Pebeo fantasy prisme & Moon paint & pippetts.

PROCESS:

I filled the bottle cap centres with Prisme/Moon paint using the pippetts - you can mix the colours if you want - then watch the magic happen.

Leave to dry over night and then secure a magnet on the back.

I gave mine as a gift and they were gratefully received.

Industrial Heart canvas

PRODUCTS USED:

Old dictionary pages, archival ink, La Blanche stamp, Mod Podge matt, Cosmic Shimmer rust kit, Decoart antiquing cream.

PROCESS:

I glued strips of pages from an old dictionary to the canvas using mod podge.

Once dry I stamped my design using a La Blanche Stamp, cog stamp & archival ink.

I cut a heart shape from card and glued on some die cut cogs.

Using a Cosmic Shimmer rust kit I made the heart look industrial buy building up the different browns/oranges. The paint has a gritty texture which adds to the effect.

I glued the heart onto my canvas and with a thick nibbed black Posca Paint marker, I drew around it and smudged the paint out so the heart popped.
I also added some Decoart antiquing cream into some of the crevices for a patina look.

I finished this with a sticker sentiment from Tim Holtz Chit Chat range & I inked around the canvas edge with my archival ink to frame everything.
